HISTORY

  • Established as a branch of Euhaw Baptist Church in 1795
  • Chartered as The Baptist Church of Beaufort in 1804
  • Steady growth throughout most of its post-Civil War history
  • Promising growth between 1995 and into 2009
  • Has established (10) local churches and (2) language missions
  • Downtown, regional church of 1200 resident members
  • Significant sanctuary renovation completed in 1998
  • 2009 budget of $1,051,000

  • Strong core of mature and senior leaders, active 20 or more years
  • Increasingly active and developing group of young adults in leadership

  • Present student ministry consists of 62 on roll

  • Youth Choir and Handbell ensemble
