We hold fast to historic Baptist traditions and principles, founded in the freedom we all have in Jesus Christ. Because the term "Baptist" can mean many things to many people and because there are any number of denominations that call themselves Baptist, we choose to make clear that we are an autonomous Baptist church. We are associated locally with the Savannah River Baptist Association, at a state level with both the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of South Carolina and the South Carolina Baptist Convention, nationally with both the Southern Baptist Convention and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and internationally with the Baptist World Alliance. The Baptist Church of Beaufort existed before any of these groups and as such we ultimately govern ourselves. We are a church with 18th century roots carrying an unchanging gospel into this millennium.
