GROW
GROWing Through Discipleship & Mentoring:
4. Friend 2 Friend Mentoring
5. 10:10 Bible Study
Purpose
• Younger students need spiritual role models close to their own age that they can relate with and look up to.
• Older students need to see adults who care about them and are willing to invest in their lives.
• Mentoring makes our youth group “healthier.” Younger students know that older students care about them, and older students recognize the responsibility they have to care about others who are younger than they are, and the importance of investing their lives in others.
• It helps equip students for leading Bible studies and/or accountability groups when they leave your group and go off to college and careers.
• Mentoring helps younger students realize that there ARE older students who are living out what they are learning about being a Christian and that older students really do care about them.
• It helps all students realize that there are adults out there who are seriously trying to live out their faith in the “real world”.
• It increases interaction between parents and students.
• “Discipleship is everything!”
