Dr. Melanie Williams, Director
Dr. Melanie Williams is currently serving as Minister of Music at the Baptist Church of Beaufort where she oversees the church’s music ministry and directs instrumental and vocal ensembles in all age groups. She was formerly co-founder and director of Northern Kentucky Children’s Ensemble and executive artistic director for Central Illinois Children’s Chorus. Her community ensembles have been invited to perform as featured presenters in many venues such as choral conventions, music educator conventions, and national choir festivals. She has also taught voice on the faculties of University of Illinois , Illinois Wesleyan University, University of Dayton , and Northern Kentucky University . She is frequently invited to serve as clinician and adjudicator in a variety of choral settings. Dr. Williams earned her D.M.A. and M.M. in vocal performance from the University of Illinois and her B.M.E. from Georgia Southern University. She also holds membership in MENC, ACDA, NATS, and SAI.
Mrs. Linda Keene, Assistant Director and Accompanist
Mrs. Linda Keene is currently a music teacher at Mossy Oaks Elementary School and has lived and worked in Beaufort for over 30 years in music education. She has taught at Beaufort Academy , Laurel Bay School 1, Port Royal Elementary and Battery Creek Elementary as well as Mossy Oaks Elementary where she directs the Mossy Oaks Elementary School Chorus, which has participated in many community events. Mrs. Keene also serves as a vital part of the music ministry here at The Baptist Church of Beaufort as a singer, accompanist, director, and participant in various vocal and instrumental ensembles. She earned her B.M.E. from Georgia Southern University.
